Where are your items produced?

Our products are handmade in Europe (not so many weavers can be found in Europe these days), more specifically at Ms. Lejla’s workshop in Visoko, Bosnia.

Are there specific cleaning rules for your products?
How do I clean my kilim?

Our chief weaver Lejla taught us the best way to clean a kilim: it can be vacuumed but should never be washed in a washing machine or, even worse, soaked in water. The colours that we use are natural so they wash off when too much water is used. The best thing you can do is to take a cloth or a
sponge, moist it with a mixture of cold water and vinegar and then use it to gently clean the kilim. Never use chemicals to clean your kilim! If you have only spilled something on it, press on the spot with a cloth to absorb the liquid. If there is some dried residue on your kilim, use a brush to scrub it gently and then vacuum the residual dirt.

Turn around your kilims from time to time, to equalise wear.

Can you make a custom size kilim or rug?

Absolutely yes. Our weavers work on looms where kilims or rugs with sizes ranging up to 200 cm x 300 cm can be made. But we also do a lot of larger size kilims or rugs by seamlessly combining more pieces together. To discuss this in detail, please write us an email at ciao@kobeiagikilims.com

Can you make a kilim or rug based on my design?

Yes, we can, but note that in such a case we usually charge the customer for the adaptation of his design to our weaving/knotting technique.

My child cut a hole in the kilim, what can I do?

Send us a photo of the damage, we will discuss it with Ms. Lejla and let you know if we can fix it and what would be the cost of the repair.

My kilim is not the exact replica of the one on the photo on your website…

Please note that all our products are handmade by our fantastic weavers one piece at a time. Due to this process there may be slight variations from one item to another. Such variations are inherent in the manufacturing of
handmade products, so you can expect minor differences that will make your kilim simply special and truly one of a kind.
